It Seemed Like a Good Idea
at the Time
Not all of Posty’s work
fits neatly into categories, here are some of her stranger activities
over the years.
Spending an Evening Handcuffed to Rich Hall
American comedian Rich Hall (The Late Show with David
Letterman) is very popular with the women in the comedy community, so
when Lynda Gibson needed someone to appear in her show handcuffed to
him, she knew that he’d only be safe with a big old lezzo. Sue-Ann
managed to keep him both safe and under control in what turned out to be
the first performance of his popular character Otis Lee Crenshaw.
Sumo Wrestling with the Jim Rose Circus
When the Jim Rose Circus (The Simpsons, X-Files) last came to
Melbourne, Jim put out the call for husky local women to take on his
female sumo wrestlers. Sue-Ann was the only volunteer deemed tough
enough. She took to the stage to defend Aussie pride against the
Americans, Katie ‘Pile-driver’ Wilson and Judy ‘the Bull Moose’ Jenkins.
The Melbourne Town Hall rang with the sound of thousands of fans
chanting “Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, Oi, Oi, Oi” as Sue-Ann won the first
bout, but lost the second. If you want to see pictures of the fights
you’ll have to see Sue-Ann’s show G-Strings and Jockstraps.
Dancing Naked at She’s Famous
When Posty agreed to stand in for the lead dancer at Melbourne’s
leading lesbian cabaret venue she expected to be wearing more than a
cardboard cut-out heart. However, she took the costume in her stride and
proved once and for all that you don’t need clothes to do the box step.
